Shirley Jackson, 70, of Bessemer, AL, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2023, surrounded by her family and loved ones. Shirley grew up in Hueytown, AL. She worked as a retail associate and receptionist for years and enjoyed gardening, decorating and cooking. Shirley will be dearly missed and always remembered.

Shirley was predeceased by her husband of 42 years Thomas Jackson, [mother] Mattie Lee Thomas, [sister] Barbara Thomas, and [brother] Lester Thomas (Renate). She is survived by her three children, Diane Jackson McCaskey (Labarron), Terri Jackson, and Thomas Jackson, Jr. (Kianna), [sister] Linda Long (Willie), [grandson] Marquese Jackson (Vanessa), as well as loving  granddaughters, one great granddaughter, cousins, nieces and nephews. Shirley requested a celebration of life be held in her honor as opposed to traditional funeral services. We request all of Shirley’s loved ones join us in celebrating her beautiful life at North Highlands Baptist Church in Hueytown on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 11:00AM. Giving was important to Shirley, so in lieu of flowers, the family asks that those wanting to give make a donation to North Highlands Baptist Church or the Nikki Mitchell Foundation which serves pancreatic cancer patients.
