Shirley Ann Hollis “Hollie”, 91, of Apple Valley passed away peacefully on Monday the 21st of October.

She was born to the late Bernard James Sherwood and Golden Evelyn, August 7th, 1928 in Kansas City, Missouri. Shirley graduated from High school and moved with her parents and her sister Betty in 1946 to Los Angeles, California. In Los Angeles at a dance she met the love of her life John Jared Hollis and they married in 1947. They were blessed with three boys, and while he was pursuing his Dental Career the family lived in Pennsylvania. After about seven years the Hollis’s moved back to be with family in Whittier, California. Hollie and Dr. Hollis spent a life of happiness, love and laughter until his passing in 1985. Throughout the years Hollie lived in St George, Utah, Dayton, Nevada and Lucerne Valley.

Hollie loved music and dancing, a “jack pot” win, the American Flag, Mexican food, fast cars, and hosting parties. She loved a good joke, and had a wonderful sense of humor up until her passing.

She is survived by her three sons, Tim (Tara), Ted and Terry (Valarie), her grandchildren, Sarah Thompson (Richard), Beau Hollis, Heather Gibson (Troy) and Jennifer Hollis, and her Great Grandchildren, Griffin Thompson, and baby Gibson.

She is predeceased by her husband, parents, and sister Elizabeth Owen.

Now Hollie can dance and laugh in heaven with her husband and best friend J.J.
