Shirley's obituary
Shirley (Mace) Delk was born on November 9, 1942 to Stanford Berry Mace and Arlene Gilmore in Chicago Illinois.
Shirley moved from Chicago to Edwards Mississippi with her mom, dad, brother (Andrew Mace), and half sister (Mildred Ruth), as a very young child.
She attended elementary school where she was taught General Education by her Aunt (Pattie Rie Mace). As a teenager Shirley attended Utica High School where she became a Majorette and perfected her baton twirling skills in the marching band.
After high school, Shirley decided to return to Chicago Illinois where she met and married Tommie L. Delk. To this union two children were born (Sherry Delk and Akela Nicole Delk).
She has always been a hardworking woman. Not only was she a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, but she's always worked hard and helped to provide for her family together with her husband Tommie.
She worked for Sara Lee for over 18 years and was a certified flagger for Dominic Flordarosa for many years until her retirement.
Shirley Mae Mace confessed to Christ at a young age. She was always very devoted when it came to attending church services on Sunday mornings and was a member of Valley Kingdom Ministries International.
Shirley Mae Delk leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband, Tommie, two daughters, Sherry and Akela Nicole (Bernard), five grandchildren, Chemia (Eunice), Diamond, Deja, Nicholas, and Aaliyah, and three great grandchildren, Uriah, Nia, and Yanis, along with a host of other family and friends.
