Shirley's obituary
Shirley Davidson
**June 12, 1937 - September 14, 2025**
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Shirley Davidson, who left this world peacefully in her sleep at the age of 88. Shirley was called home by the Lord on September 14, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and unwavering determination.
Born in Kingsport, Tennessee, on June 12, 1937, Shirley dedicated her life to serving others. She worked for the state of North Carolina and Adecco before retiring to focus on her true passion: her family and her faith in Jesus Christ. A devoted member of Carraway United Methodist Church, Shirley found joy in her community, particularly in the simple pleasure of serving hotdogs on Saturdays alongside her fellow church members.
Shirley cherished the holidays, especially Christmas, when she would delight her family with her famous German chocolate cake. Her spirit was vibrant and full of life; she was a true spitfire, known for her determination and her wise words that often provided comfort and guidance to those around her.
Shirley is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Kyle and Mable Bishop; her daughter, Vanessa Franco; her first husband, Daniel Jones; and her late husband, Jim Davidson. She is survived by her son, Barry Jones (Gina); her granddaughters, Vienna Coble (Dylan) and Hope Jones; and her great-grandson, Carter Martin.
Shirley’s memory will forever be cherished by her family and friends, who will carry her spirit in their hearts. Her legacy of love, faith, and resilience will continue to inspire all who knew her. A celebration of her life will be held at Forbis & Dick followed by the burial at Lakeview cemetery in Greensboro, NC. Shirley found so much joy and purpose at Carraway United Methodist church in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the church in her honor.
Rest in peace. Your light will continue to shine brightly.
Service will be held Thursday, September 18, 2025 at Forbis & Dick at 12 pm followed by burial service at 3:00 pm at Lake View.
