Shirley's obituary
She was born in Montclair, NJ on August 28, 1928, a daughter of the late Richard J. and Myrtle Landsperg Coda. She grew up in Orange and had lived in Bridgewater for 26 years before moving to The Chelsea at Bridgewater 3 years ago.
Mrs. Caron had worked as a press clipper for Burrells Press Clipping in Livingston for over 15 years. She later was employed as a secretary at Weidel Real Estate in Bridgewater for 10 years before retiring.
Shirley enjoyed being active and took interest in many activities including birding, swimming, walking, exercising, doing crossword puzzles and playing Rumicube, going to plays and shows in the city, and going to the beach.
She was a communicant of the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Bernardsville.
She was predeceased by her brother, Richard "Skippy" Coda.
Mrs. Caron is survived by her husband of 67 years, Henri A. Caron; 3 sons, Michael H. Caron and his wife, Loretta, of Pennsylvania, Paul A. Caron and his wife, Holly, of California, and Henry R. Caron and his wife, Stacey, of New Jersey; 2 daughters, Linda Blaze and her husband, Steven, and Ellen Ringle and her husband, Joshua, both of New Jersey; a sister, Audrey Tracey of New Jersey; 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends may visit at the Layton Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Bedminster on Saturday, April 7 from 9:00am to 10:30am. A funeral mass will take place on Saturday at 11:00am at the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 111 Claremont Road, Bernardsville. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Seeing Eye, P.O. Box 375, Morristown, NJ 07963-0375.
