Shirley's obituary

Shirley Anne Calvert (Perry) age 90, passed away peacefully January 1, 2026, in Farmersville, TX.  Born on June 12, 1935, in Shreveport, Louisiana, she lived a life marked by faith, family, and unwavering generosity. 

Shirley was the daughter of Charles and Mildred Perry and grew up in a close-knit family alongside her siblings Patricia, Charles, Glenn, and William. Her deep-rooted values of compassion and service were evident throughout her life in the many roles she embraced with devotion. 

Shirley resided in Allen, Texas for 30 years and was a member of Allen Heights Baptist Church. Her strong Christian faith guided her daily life and inspired her to serve others by teaching Sunday school, VBS, and Awana’s. She had a special love for children and was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. 

She is lovingly remembered by her children Doyle Calvert, Charles Calvert, Donna Calvert and her brother William. Her 8 grandchildren, her great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. 

Though preceded in death by her parents Charles and Mildred Perry, her sister Patricia Pillard, and brothers Charles Perry II, and Glenn Perry, her legacy lives on through the generations of family she nurtured with love. 

Shirley will be remembered as warm hearted and thoughtful. She was always giving of herself without hesitation. She was full of love and life. May her memory be a comfort to all that knew her.
