Shirley Bounds passed away peacefully on October 3, 2025 at her home in Eugene, OR. She was 88 years old.

Those of us who were blessed to know her understand that her existence and the imprint she left on our hearts far exceeds the quantity of time that she stayed here. She was immeasurably kind and patient, and underwent many health challenges throughout her life with admirable grace and strength. She was known to surprise you with her quick wit and her hidden talents (who knew she could paint so beautifully?). She was a lover of the simple things in life, like an evening cup of tea, writing a letter to a pen pal, sitting outside in the sunshine, and spending time with her friends and family.

Shirley is survived by her loving husband Jeff, her children Steve, Alan, and Dale, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, and countless friends.
