Shirley's obituary
On January 27, 2026, our beloved Shirley "Lainey" Bennett, born on April 11, 1971, was called away from this world. Known fondly as Lainey to some, she always preferred to be called Shirley, a name that reflected her vibrant and warm personality.
Shirley is survived by her daughters Pamela Vega and Racheal Bennett, her sister Christie Schmitt, her brother Ronald Ramsey, and her sisters Frances Turri and Richilyn Kincaid. She has been predeceased by her daughter Benita Caauwe, her brother Richard Kincaid, her sister Deandra Kincaid, her father Richard Kincaid, her mother Bertha Williams-Ramsey, and her husband Tommy Bennett.
Shirley was a woman who enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. She found joy in the taste of a Coke, the songs of Tracey Adkins, the unfolding dramas in TV shows like NCIS and Law & Order, and the thrilling narratives of movies like Jurassic Park, Jurassic World, and Jaws. She loved to go fishing, hiking, and going to movies. Her favorite vacation spot was visiting her family, and she always cherished her time at local spots like bars, the cinema, and fairgrounds.
Described by her loved ones as bubbly, warm, loving, and always happy, Shirley was a beacon of positivity and resilience. Even when faced with adversity and trials, she remained steadfast, with her kindness never wavering. This, she believed, was both her greatest strength and her occasional downfall—yet it was this trait that her loved ones admired and will remember her by.
Shirley left a legacy of love and compassion. She was a devoted mother, a loving wife, and a dedicated worker in the nursing field. Her greatest accomplishments were her marriage and her children, who she loved dearly. Her legacy is one of unstinting love and kindness, and she will always be remembered for her big-hearted nature.
As we mourn Shirley's departure, we also celebrate her life filled with love, compassion, and unwavering strength. We heartfeltly bid her farewell and promise to remember her for all the love and joy she brought into our lives. Her spirit will forever resonate with us, and we will continue to send our prayers to her, making sure she can hear us even from above.
