It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Shirley Andrews (nee Ashburn) who received her angel wings on August 09, 2025. Shirley was 83 years old.

Shirley had a joy for life and a gift for finding happiness in the little things. She was a loyal fan of the Chicago Cubs, enjoyed the thrill of a good bingo game, and could spend hours solving crossword puzzles with patience and wit. Her family will always remember her signature song, *“You Are My Sunshine,”* which she sang to comfort, cheer, and show her love to those around her.  Not a day went by where Shirley didn't talk about how much her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant to her -- her family was her most important achievement in life.  Shirley is survived by her loving children, Sherry Andrews, Rosi (Michael) Dougherty ,Betty (Michael) Neal & Robert (Arturo ) Andrews, her grandchildren,  Jennifer (Todd)Dlugosz, Michael (Diona) Dougherty, James O'Donnell, Jessica Dougherty, Roy Andrews Jr.,  Ashley (Brandon) Bloecher, & Megan (RJ) Paul, her great-grandchildren , Taryn Dougherty, Jayden Andrews, Layla Andrews, Julianna Dougherty, Liam Dougherty, Maverick Dlugosz, Matthew Bloecher, Lance Dlugosz & Elaina Dougherty,  her sister Geana Higgins and countless nieces , nephews and friends. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Robert H. Andrews, her parents Frasher & Geneva Ashburn, her siblings Edward, Robert,  Alice , Roy & Donald , her son Roy Andrews and her great grandson  Lincoln Dlugosz.  

She will be remembered for her kindness, her strength, and her unwavering love for those she held dear.

Memorial and Celebration of Life  will be held to honor Shirley at her favorite bingo hall the Wood Dale VFW on Saturday 8/30/25. 

Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
