Obituary
Shirl Kenney, age 85, formally of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully in her daughter’s arms on 09/24/2020 at Shady Rest Care Center in Cascade, Iowa. Shirl was diagnosed with dementia in 2013. She moved in with her daughter Kathy, at this time to help care for her. Shirl put up a good fight, exercising regularly and keeping herself in line by placing sticky notes all around her house. We will be holding a celebration of life for Shirl on Saturday, April 24, 2021,
at Horseshoe Falls Lodge, 1815 Horseshoe Falls Road, Central City, IA 52214.
The celebration will be from 1 pm-5 pm.
Shirl did not want a funeral service, but we appreciate all the love and support and encourage everyone to share their favorite memories of Shirl on this memorial website.
