Shifra's obituary

Shifra Nechama Polack (nee Biderman, Hebrew: שפרה נחמה בת מרים ויוסף פולק), beloved wife of Baruch Polack, passed away on July 2, 2023 in Boston, MA.

Born in Tel Aviv, Israel, on December 25, 1950 to a holocaust survivor and sixth generation Jerusalemite, she lived a remarkable life. Working as a beloved teacher and successful businesswoman in her youth, she immigrated to the United States in the early 90s where she became a U.S. citizen, raised a family, and helped create a successful business with her husband. She was a proud grandmother, mother, and wife, who enjoyed entertaining, cooking for her family, and giving to others. She exemplified a true woman of valor. We unfortunately lost her to cancer on July 2, 2023.

Her funeral procession took place on Monday, July 3, 2023 at Levine Chapels in Brookline, MA. She is buried in the Kiryat Shaul Cemetery in Kiryat Shaul, Tel Aviv, Israel (בית העלמין קרית שעול, גוש 24 אזור 2 שורה 10 מקום 50).

She is survived by her husband, Baruch Polack; children: Pinchus, Yoel, and Menachum Polack, and Julie Traub; grandchildren: Aviva and Miriam Polack, and Simon Traub; and brother, Pinchas Biderman. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Maimonides School, General Fund, 34 Philbrick Rd., Brookline, 02445. Levine Chapels, (617) 277-8300.
