He was a very sweet man who had a huge heart. I met him on Easter 2022 at his home. He was very kind a friendly. He seemed like they type of person that would go out of his way to help you if he could. God definitely gained and angel with him! RIP. Prayers and thoughts with the serving family!
Sherwood is my grandfather. I will miss seeing him on his front porch. Funny he is found in Google maps as my mother Tawny Rose would put it. We always had beautiful family gatherings on many holiday's, Christmas especially we're the best! Fond memories of my twin sister Kelly and I playing it in sawmill. Every single hurricane that visited Florida meant that we were going to go spend it with Grandpa. The last few years this is health decline, myself along with Tawny Rose his daughter-in-law always made it a point to have family gathering's to each holiday and treated it as if it was our last one with Grandpa Sherwood. Red on the that is what he called his grandson Bradley and Tyler along with myself spent Father's Day weekend with him. Deep down I feel like it was going to be the last holiday with him! We made his favorite sausage biscuits and gravy for breakfast along with fried spam for lunch on Father's Day. Until we meet again love you forever and miss you! I know you're up there with Aunt Shirley and Dad. Along with your mother and father and our other family members that have passed on.
My grandpa was a very reliable and helping man. I remember one time my grandpa having to come to a house in the middle of the night that we were renting when I was like 19 and there was two inches of water on the floor in the house and I was like what's going on here. I immediately called my grandfather. He drove all the way to Vero in the middle of the night and he said something is wrong with the AC. The drip pan is not dripping so he went outside and he put his mouth on this nasty dirty pipe outside because I didn't own a shop vac so grandpa improvised and had to blow air into the AC drain pipe and got all this water and algae to come out. And then he told us to leave the windows open and dry the house out for a couple of days. But that's when grandpa taught me how to maintain my AC unit. I felt bad because the pipe was like half an inch from the ground. Grandpa could barely fit his face down there. Another incident our electric panel went bad. Grandpa came and changed the electrical panel out for us thank goodness because that would have been expensive and money we didn't have to repair it. Grandpa did all kinds of stuff for us. Another time we had are car brake down and he had to rebuilt the top end because my sister and I couldn't afford a to hire a mechanic we were 16 I believe. I also remember as a little girl always going out to the saw mill and playing he had a lot of dogs out there they loved us kids and my grandpa was always so happy to have us grandkids around. He truly was a family man. He absolutely loved us. He would also get us grandkids into the fair all the time for free because he was involved in the agriculture community and donating saw dust and lumber from the saw mill for the cattle and hogs and all the other farm animals. He was a great man loved working hard and being great to us grandkids I am so blessed that I can be able to say that I had the best grandpa in the world!
My condolences to Sherwood's family. He is my grandfather, the only grandfather I've ever known He was a big influence in my life taught me a lot of life skills growing up and he was a very funny man and he taught me how to be funny too I will really miss being able to call my grandpa whenever I have a life event issue. He was very loyal and helping. Every time a hurricane comes I always ran to my grandpa. I'm just thankful that I was blessed with such a wonderful grandpa and I got to spend so much time with my grandfather. He was definitely one of a kind and everybody that knew him loved him and loved to be around him. And I'm also very thankful that he got to meet his great grand baby, baby Marshall. Grandpa always loved his grandkids and his great grandkids unconditionally. He really did know the meaning of family! And heaven gained one of the great ones. He will be truly missed every day all day. Until we meet again, I love you Grandpa!!!!
