Sherry's obituary

Sherry K. Zink, age 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on February 11th, 2025 at Clearview Nursing Home in Juneau, WI.

Sherry was born to Henry and Arlene Alberts on October 18th, 1945 in Dixon, IL where she spent her early years working on the family farm.  We think she graduated high school in 1963.  Come to think of it, we’re not even sure of her exact age (she wouldn’t tell us).

She married Big Al Zink Jr. (“The Cowboy”) in 1968 but they divorced years later due to him watching too much Star Trek.  They were smart and left the flat lands of Illinois and moved to the land of cheese in 1972.  Sherry and The Cowboy raised 4 children- Pegi, Brenda, Big Al III, and Galen “The Golden Child.”  They all turned out pretty decent.

Sherry worked various jobs over the years, including veal farming and 30+ years with Animix in Juneau, WI.  She loved her family more than anything else in this world, but she also enjoyed the Green Bay Packers, her cats, fishing, shopping, her Jeep, Bartles & Jaymes fuzzy navel wine coolers, and she had just recently discovered Temu.

She leaves behind a very dysfunctional family that she was so proud of.  Children- Pegi Erdmann (John), Al Zink (Viva), Galen Zink (bass fishing boat). Grandchildren- Trina “The Golden Grandchild” Clutterbuck (Jeff), Amanda Firari (Tony), Quinn Bergum (Cassidy), Olivia Bergum, Gage Zink, Eloise Zink, 6 great grandchildren, her brothers Jim, Bob (Pam), and Tom, sister Bonnie (Jerry), nieces and nephews, other family members, and her special friend Wayne. Also, her cat Churchill (if anyone is looking for a pet, we have a great opportunity).

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Betty, sister-in-law Cathy, daughter Brenda, and grandchildren- Travis, Jade, and Robert Jr.

Everyone always knew where you stood with her. She either liked you or she didn’t, it was black or white. As her family, we are still trying to figure out which one it was for us (we know she loved us).

If anyone needs us, we will be busy cleaning out her basement of every QVC product ever made. Watch your local Facebook marketplace for some good deals. You should wait the appropriate amount of time before reaching out…tomorrow is fine.

We want to say thank you to the staff at Clearview for all of the wonderful care. Luckily, she was on her best behavior and we didn’t have to shower you all with gifts.

In her words, “Buenos Dias.  Hee-haw.  Let’s party!”

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Any memorials can be directed to the family (please give generously, one of us is behind on our mortgage).

We will miss her so much but we know she is now relaxing in her big recliner in the sky.
