Sherry Denise Gomez(Bodger), age 58, passed away on July 28, 2025, in Arizona after a sudden and devastating medical event. Born and raised in San Diego, California, she spent most of her life there before moving to Arizona.

Sherry was a vibrant, hardworking woman who dedicated much of her life to serving students through school nutrition. She retired from the San Diego Unified School District and continued her career as a Nutrition Specialist with the Scottsdale School District. Her warmth and energy touched everyone around her, She was truly loved by her coworkers, known for making every holiday a celebration and bringing joy and warmth to every space she was in.

She became a mother at a young age and raised her children with strength, resilience, and as much love as she could give. Despite struggles and a challenging upbringing of her own, Sherry always did her best , and that best meant the world to those who knew her and is reflected in the lives of her children, who have grown into kind, hardworking, and compassionate individuals.

She is survived by her children:  Douglas Bodger, Daniel Guerrero, Jessica Hawkins(Hall), and Shara Benham (Hildebrand). Her spirit, humor, and tenacity will be remembered and deeply missed.
