Sherry's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sherrill "Sherry" Arthur. Better known as Sherry, she graced the world with her warm presence for 85 years, born on June 12, 1940, until her peaceful passing on December 14, 2025.
Sherry was a loving woman, who wore her heart on her sleeve. Her calming demeanor was a balm to all around her. She loved unconditionally, believing that family was everything. This belief was clearly evident in the close relationships she maintained with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Chaney Arthur and Lisa Stone, her son-in-law, Brady Stone, and her grandchildren, Kayla and Christian Jackson, Zachary and Jennifer Stone, and Hannah Stone, as well as her great-grandchildren Dakota, Kao, Dallas, Kayson, Isabel, Adalynn and Brady, and many nieces nephews and cousins. These special people were the light of her life, and she was always happiest when she was with them – whether they were at home, or on one of their family vacations. Sherry was predeceased by her parents, Al and Annalee Glanville, her sister Cookie Cassens, and her loving husband, Thomas Arthur.
In her free time, Sherry enjoyed reading, gardening and watching movies. She had a particularly soft spot for the movie Holiday Inn, and loved watching theatrical performances and attending the symphony. Navy blue was her color of choice, reflecting her classic and composed persona. She was a lifelong fan of the Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies, and often enjoyed playing a game of Solitaire or Dominoes.
Sherry had a profound appreciation for art, with Van Gogh being one of her favorite artists. She had an eclectic taste in music, enjoying everything from The Beatles to Frank Sinatra to Josh Groban. She was always up for tuning into one of her favorite TV shows, which included NCIS, Tracker, and Blue Bloods. A hot cup of tea and some chocolate were her go-to comfort food.
Sherry’s accomplishments were many, but she was most proud of earning her Bachelor's degree and raising her two beautiful daughters. She leaves behind a legacy of family and abiding love, and she will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
A Celebration of Life for Sherry will be held on March 14, 2026, at 8:00 PM at One Hope Church of the Nazarene. In her memory, we will honor her love of family, her zest for life, and her unyielding kindness.
Rest in peace, Sherry. Your love, lessons, and legacy will forever be treasured.
