Sandy's obituary
Sherman L. Huston, II, "Sandy", crossed over into paradise on February 23, 2025. May his soul rest in peace as the gates of Heaven open for him.
He struggled with severe Lewy body dementia and heart problems for the last few years. While we're sad to say that he is gone, we're glad to say he is no longer suffering.
Sandy was a man of integrity who served his Country with dignity and respect in the United States Navy. He was stationed on the USS Forrestal, in the Vietnam War, when there was a horrific accident which caused an inferno at sea. He went on and had a full career working at his swimming pool business for 32 years in Virginia. He retired to his "favorite place on earth", Atlantic Beach, NC.
He was proceeded in death by his Mom, Margriet Huston, his Dad, Colonel Sherman L. Huston, his brother Val “Skip” Huston, his sister, Sally Lee, as well as, his twin brother who died at birth.
He is survived in death by his three sons, Noel Huston, Kel Huston, Tyler Huston, his nephew Nicholas Huston and his ex-wife, Cynthia Huston.
There will be a celebration of his life on Saturday April 12, 2025. A private, at sea, memorial service will be held by the family at a different time. Anyone who’s interested in more April 12 details please message any one of us directly. Invites will be sent out to family and friends, however, all are welcome to the celebration of Sandy's life.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to Cape Fear LifeCare in Wilmington, NC.
