Sherman's obituary

Sherman Renard Allen entered into this world November 23, 1964 in Houston, Texas to the late Barney and Maude Ester Adair Allen. Sherman, 56, passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2021 at Paradigm At Westbury in his hometown of Houston, Texas. His hurt heart after the passing of momma, was to much to bear, as he declined after learning of her becoming an Angel.

Sherman graduated from Madison High School in 1983, where he played football and was involved in FFA. He would then join the workforce, working at Rice Food Market and he would then go on to work at the Astrodome for over 15 years. In 1996 Sherman and Karen Leonard would marry. Although this union did not bring about any kids and ended in divorce, it did bring together two families that still communicate and are friends still to this day.

He never met anyone that he didn't get on their nerves, with his constant playing. He was a gentle giant and would give you his first and last. If you came to the house, you would expect to get shook or be given a bear hug. That was his way of showing his love and affection for you and saying hi, although sometimes it hurt, lol. Sherman loved his hometown sports teams and was an avid fan. He would fuss at the TV just as my grandmother and mom would when things weren't going the Astros, Rockets, Oilers/Texans way. He loved doing yardwork and would cut the elderly neighbors yards free of charge. Growing up Sherman would go on trail-rides as he loved animals. This was evident as he had two pigeon coops, one he kept on the roof of Madison HS and a smaller one at the house. His last winged pet was his bird, that he talked to everyday and it was as though the lil fella knew exactly what he was saying. Along with his family, Sherman attended the following Churches; Evangelist Temple COGIC, Greater Emmanuel COGIC, Hornes Chapel COGIC and Victory Temple COGIC.

Sherman is survived by his Brothers - Barney Allen, III. (Marilyn), Bruce Davon Allen, Montra’ Enoch Roberson (Roshondra), Jonathan Miller; Sisters - Shandri P.
