In Loving Memory of Shelda
Shelda… I’m speaking to you the way I always did - straight from my heart.
You didn’t have children of your own, but somehow you moved through this world like everyone was your child. You loved deeply, you protected fiercely, and you showed up for people and for their children as if they were yours. It never felt like you were missing anything, because your love filled every room you entered.
You are my baby’s godmother, and that will never change. You claimed her with your whole heart. You claimed me too. Through everything, you never stopped looking for me, never stopped checking on me, never once let me disappear. You used to tell me, “I don’t care if you change your number or try to hide — I will always find you. I need to know you’re okay.”
And you always did.
You carried people in ways most will never understand. You took on their worries, their fears, their pain — just so they wouldn’t have to hold it alone. You gave comfort even when your own strength was being tested. That kind of love is rare.
Brawn, I want to say this with respect — thank you for loving Shelda with consistency, patience, and devotion. She cherished you deeply. I always believed you were meant to walk life together, and the love you gave her mattered more than words can express.
Shelda, you didn’t just pass through people’s lives — you changed them. I hope you are remembered not only for your kindness, but for how much care you deserved in return. I hope your name is spoken gently. I hope your love is honored loudly.
I will carry you with me — in my prayers, in my memories, and in the way I continue to love.
Forever connected. Forever grateful. Forever you.
