Sheri's obituary
Sheri Lynn Brown, 63, of Ocoee, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on July 17, 2025. Born in Albuquerque, NM, Sheri spent most of her life in Central Florida, where her kindness, vibrant spirit, and passion for helping others left a lasting mark on everyone who knew her.
A graduate of Mainland High School (Class of 1980), Sheri went on to earn her nursing degree from Daytona State College in 1986. She began her career in the NICU, offering skilled, compassionate care to the most vulnerable. Later, she found her true calling as a Nurse Manager at Camp Boggy Creek in Eustis, FL, a role that blended her love of children, community, and healing. She was especially proud of her time at the camp, where she worked alongside volunteers, staff, and campers who shared her commitment to making the world brighter and more joyful for those who need it most.
Sheri had a passion for life that was impossible to miss. Whether riding her motorcycle or sitting peacefully by the ocean watching for dolphins at sunset, she found joy in freedom and the little moments that made life rich. She loved boating and jet skiing, had a special affection for animals (her cats and dogs whom she considered family) and always had music in her soul, whether it was the beat of a drum circle or the power vocals of P!nk.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Barbara Ann Taylor and Arthur Marion Brown, and her brother Steve Brown. She is survived by her brother Mark Brown; her niece Valerie (Chris) Brown and nephews Chris (Tyler) Brown and Corey (Leah) Brown; and her beloved pets and chosen family of friends and campmates who meant the world to her.
Sheri lived with a rare combination of courage, compassion, and charisma. She will be remembered not only for what she did, but for the energy she brought into every room — and the waves she made, both literal and metaphorical.
