Sheree's obituary

Obituary of Sheree Cannon

January 9th 1961 – December 25th 2025

Sheree Gunn-Cannon was born in 1961 in Chicago, Illinois, and raised in Racine, Wisconsin. She was the fifth of seven children born to Catherine and Tommy Lee Gunn. From the very beginning, Sheree carried a radiant spirit, one that drew people in and made them feel loved. She was cherished by all who knew her.

Filled with music, movement, and joy, Sheree loved to sing and dance, often lighting up every room she entered. Her presence reflected happiness, strength, and compassion, qualities she freely shared with her family, friends, and community. While living in Racine, Wisconsin, she worked as a dedicated nursing assistant, caring for others with the same tenderness she showed her own family. In her later years, Sheree became a resident of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

She was the devoted mother of four children:

Nevondae Perry; Alicia Dallas (Roman Peebles); Shara Cannon; and Keontae Isaiah Moe Morris.

She was a loving grandmother to:

Tioni Dallas; Nevondae Perry Jr.; Keynesha Perry; Keontae Morris Jr.; Kezariah Morris; Kaejah Morris; Kawhi Morris; Willow Peebles; and Shiloh Peebles, and a proud great-grandmother to Khamazi Morris.

Sheree was preceded in death by her parents, Tommy Lee Gunn and Catherine Perdue-Gunn; her brothers, Calvin Gunn, James Gunn and Rodney Gunn; her sisters, Janice Gunn (Derek Jones), Linda Ames, and Tomasine Ames; and her nephew, Darrell Jerome Gunn.

She is survived by her loving siblings, Karen Gunn, Carolyn Gunn, and Troy Ames (Lois); her close friend Benita Scruggs; and her devoted life partner, John Fleming, and godson, Rashoud McGee who stood faithfully by her side.

Sheree’s life was defined by grace, resilience, laughter, and love. Her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchild, and all whose lives were touched by her beautiful spirit. Her love remains, forever.
