Shera's obituary
Shera Jean, a vibrant soul born on June 6, 1947, shuffled off this mortal coil on March 17, 2024. A woman of exuberant personality, her departure has left a huge void in the lives of her loved ones. Shera is survived by her sister, Joline Jean; her sister, Shirley Jean; her daughter, Rose Jean; her son, Darren Jean; her father, Darrell Jean; her granddaughter, Amber Joseph; and her grandson, Louis Jean. She is predeceased by her mother, Shelia Jean.
Remembering a life well-lived, a Funeral service was held for Shera on March 28, 2024 at 12:00 PM at 111 Railroad St. Prior to the service, friends and family gathered to pay respects at a Viewing held at 10:00 AM. Later in the evening, a Reception in honor of Shera was held at 1701 W Trade St at 4:00 PM.
Shera relocated to Charlotte, NC in 2006, a place she made her home. She was devoted to serving the community and displayed this through her significant contributions as a volunteer at the Overseas Save the Chinese Children foundation and as a board member at the Journey Church.
Shera was an epicure, relishing in the flavors of Griot and Pepsi. Entertaining herself with movies like Titanic, games of Dominos, and an affection for gardening, Shera cultivated an ambiance of joy around her. A health advocate at heart, she enjoyed walking and her preferred vacation sanctuary was the sunny shores of Miami.
Endowed with a sweet, caring, outgoing, funny, and cheerful personality, Shera was admired and loved by many. She held a strong belief in treating others as one would like to be treated. A champion for the welfare of children, she led a successful charity for Save The Children, an accomplishment that resonates with her legacy of kindness and generosity.
Always a fan of purple, Shera infused her life with vibrant colors, just as she did those around her. Her life’s lessons, her selfless endeavors, and her enduring love for her family and friends will form the pillars of her legacy. She enriched the lives of many and will be dearly missed by family and friends. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know her. Farewell, Shera Jean.
