Today more than 60 friends attended our celebration of Shelly's life. They spilled onto the back patio where children played by the water. We looked at pictures, spoke of memories, shared in each other's experiences, hugged, smiled and cried just a little, while Shelly rejoiced in our hearts. It was Shiva on Shabbat - a beautiful day.
Who knew the sense of humor? The unique, at times wondrous interpretations of life? Love of nature, music, art Yearning always...to a fault, to do the right things. Seeking answers, ways of helping others. Comrade in faith. I know you deeply, admiringly, lovingly.... dear sister, Shelly.
Shelly was one of the finest people I ever met. She exemplifies the qualities God values most, according to the bible. She did this as a wife, mother, friend and Witness of Jehovah. Knowing that Jehovah loved and valued her assures us that her hope was not misplaced. Her names is in Jehovah's book of remembrance Malachi 3:16 and his book of Life Revelation 20:12 - 15. She is much loved and will be missed. Shelly had many friends and her memorial service was well supported at the Kingdom Hall. One of Shelly's favorite scriptures was Psalms 91:1,2 "Anyone dwelling in the secret place of the Most High, will lodge under the shadow of the Almighty. 2. I will say to Jehovah:"You are my refuge and my stronghold, My God in whom I trust." We will see you again in the resurrection promised by God. Ezekiel 37:13,14. John 5:21,28,29. We look forward to: John 16:22. Our joy no one will take away.
