Shelley's obituary

Shelley Marie Perkins, 71, died on February 16, 2026, in Franklin, Georgia. She was born on June 7, 1954, in Denver, Colorado, to Donald and Bernadine France.

Shelley was raised in Littleton, Colorado, and graduated from Arapahoe High School in 1972. She went on to attend Western State College, where she earned a degree in business. She devoted much of her professional life to the insurance industry, where she was respected for her dedication and integrity.

In June 2004, Shelley married Howard Perkins. Together they shared a vibrant and fulfilling life, cherishing time with family and friends and traveling whenever they could. Their years together were filled with laughter, adventure, and deep companionship.

Shelley was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Howard Perkins; and her sister, Susan France.

She is lovingly remembered by her sister, Diane Niemiec and Diane’s husband, Larry; her nephew, Garrison; her niece Sierra; step-daughter Melissa Perkins Johnston; as well as many cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

Shelley was a caring, loving, and joyful person who touched countless lives. She will be fondly remembered for her warmth, kindness, and for simply being Shelley.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 9 from 10AM- 1PM at 13154 Canopus Drive, Lone Tree CO 80124.
