Shelley's obituary
Shelley Ann Griffin, born on May 23, 1975, in Pontiac, Michigan, she passed away surrounded by family on December 23, 2024. She was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, niece, aunt, cousin and friend whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of everyone she encountered.
Shelley was the cherished daughter of Peggy Ann Mason and Randy Madrigal (Cindy). Growing up surrounded by her siblings—David Mason; Steve Mason (Kim); Cindy Stack (Mark); Jerry Mason; Terry Haynes; and Christina Warner (Gary) she developed a deep bond with each of them that would last a lifetime. Shelley’s family meant everything to her; she loved fiercely and unconditionally.
As a devoted mother to her four children—Jordan Gonzalez, Brandon Griffin, Makenzie Griffin, and Ethan Morris—Shelley poured her heart into nurturing their dreams while instilling in them the values of kindness and resilience. Her love echoed through their home as they created countless memories together.
An avid lover of the outdoors, Shelley found joy in every moment spent outside with family and friends. Whether it was kayaking across serene waters with her girl tribe or engaging in spirited games of cornhole during summer gatherings, she embraced life with an infectious enthusiasm that inspired those around her. Shelley's humor brought lightness to any situation; she had an uncanny ability to make people laugh even during tough times.
Her legacy will be celebrated at a memorial service planned for the summer of 2025—a time when all who knew Shelley can come together to share stories filled with love and laughter that reflect the essence of who she was.
Though Shelley has left this world far too soon at age 49, her spirit will forever remain alive in our hearts—the warmth from shared moments under sunny skies or cozy evenings filled with laughter will continue to remind us how deeply she loved life and those within it. In honoring Shelley's memory we are reminded not only to cherish our families but also to embrace every opportunity for joy just as she did so throughout her life.
