Shelia's obituary

Shelia A Hill, 56, of New Orleans, LA, passed away on February 18,2022 after a rough battle with Cardiac Problems. Shelia was born on August 23,1965 to Shavon Carter and Alonzo Hill in New Orleans. After graduating from L.B. Landry Highschool in 1983, She went on to study Nursing at LSUHSC School of nursing.

After graduation, she landed her first job as a  New Orleans East Hospital for 15 years. 

In 1982, she met Alonzo Hill, and they wed in 1990, going on to have 4 children When Shelia had her first daughter, she decided to dedicate her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother. Shelia excelled at propping up her siblings and family supporting them through the many passions and difficulties of their lives. Whether that was Alonzo through troubling times or supporting her children  through sports events, or art contests, she made it her mission to improve the lives of others.

Shelia was a passionate artists as well as a loving nurse and when she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found in her backyard practicing painting. We will miss her greatly. Shelia was predeceased by her mother Shannon Alsbury . She survived by her loving husband and children.

The family requests that all flowers and notes are sent to Church Fifth  African Baptist Church. There will be a celebration of life 02/24/2022 at 3:30pm at Coliseum Square Park where she often took long walks. Funeral Services will be held 02/25/2022, short viewing from 08:00am-2:00pm following a drive around the city ending with Burial Services being held at Greenwood Cemetery Located at 5190 Canal Blvd #200, New Orleans LA 70124.
