Background
As many of you know, Sheila was very passionate and always concerned about the well being of others. I fondly remember how she would prefer to sacrifice her own needs in order to ensure that anyone else's needs were first met.
Although my mother was not wealthy, she always joyfully gave to a multitude of organizations and causes in order to help make this world a better place for everyone. From St. Joseph's and St. Labre's Indian Schools to St. Jude's Hospital and CHI St. Luke's Hospital Auxiliary to the National Audubon Society and Houston Museum of Natural Science to Local Schools and Colleges / Universities, there are simply too many organizations to list.
Thus, if you are moved / inspired to give, please know that I am going to setup a foundation in memory of Sheila Derbigny Vaughn, which will be utilized to support the causes she loved and believed in on an ongoing basis. Any donations received in her memory will be explicitly transferred to the organizations and causes. No money will be retained for personal usage.
Alternatively, you can give directly to any organization of your choosing, "in memoriam of Sheila Derbigny Vaughn". Even if you are not able give financially, all that is asked is that you make a donation of "time" or "support" to someone else. My mother would love look down from Heaven and see people making a heartfelt effort to truly love and care for others who are less fortunate or in need.
I sincerely thank everyone who has already donated and supported our family (and others) with your love, blessings, gifts, time, and sacrifices. May God Bless You all now and forevermore!!
