Shaya's obituary
The family of Shaya ‘Shay’ Abril Feliciano, 25, is deeply dishearten over her sudden, untimely death. Shaya was born to her parents Alana and Derrick Feliciano in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. A doe-eyed, wild haired, smiley baby. She was welcomed into two adoring brothers Keniel and Kaleb. In her early years, Shaya flourished and grew, made great friends and spent time enjoying being a loving sibling. Her easy-going, gentle nature made her an immediate favourite with her grandparents, who, up to this point, were used to a more boisterous bunch. Soon enough, she welcomed one sister Shylo, and she became a wonderful, patient, big sister. When the family moved to Fresno, California, Shaya attended Technical College, and enjoyed meeting new friends and socializing.
Her pictures show her smiling, laughing, posing, loving and being loved by her family and friends. She was a stunningly beautiful young woman, with the world at her feet.
What doesn't show in the pictures of this lovely girl is her involvement with drugs, and the devastating toll they took on Shaya and her family, ultimately resulting in her accidental loss of life due to a drug overdose.
Despite the love and support of her family, and every opportunity given to Shaya to help her recover from her struggles with addiction, Shaya did not acknowledge what those around her could see happening. She thought she could stop, anytime. Shaya Abril Feliciano will be missed, forever, by her heartbroken parents, sister, brothers, extended family and her friends.
The family invites all of Shaya’s friends and our friends to join us for a Celebration of Life. This drop-in event will be held on (this) Friday, June 16, between the hours of 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. The location will be the Frazier Gardens & Clubhouse, located at 1745 N Cornelia Ave (rear) Fresno, CA 93722.
