Shawna's obituary

Shawna Rae Isaacson
December 26, 1963 – December 3, 2025
Shawna Rae Isaacson, a woman of incomparable strength, a legendary driver, and a true “superwoman” to her family, passed away on December 3, 2025, due to liver and kidney failure. She was 61 years old.
Born and raised in Butte, Montana, to Robert "Bob" Isaacson and Janice Gilbreathe Glenn, Shawna was a self-described "wild child." Her youth was spent riding horses, enjoying the rides at Columbia Gardens, and affectionately pestering her sister, Robin, whenever she tried to read.
Shawna’s bravery was defined early on. As a young single mother to her children, Charisma (born 1980) and Uriah (born 1983), she made the courageous choice to leave everything she knew in Butte to build a better life in Billings. With just her kids and her beloved ’67 Pontiac LeMans—equipped with a big block engine and a driver who knew how to use it—she moved forward. Shawna was a master behind the wheel, driving fast but always in control, though she never missed a chance to make "car noises" just to playfully scare Charisma.
For 30 years, Shawna was a pillar of the Mental Health Center in Billings. She was more than an employee; she was a lifeline, touching countless lives and saving many along the way. She worked grueling overtime to provide for her family, but her house was always filled with music and energy. On her days off, the neighborhood knew it was cleaning day when her "crazy playlist" blasted from her Pioneer stereo. She would lead her children in a house-wide dance party, transitioning seamlessly from Judas Priest and Metallica to Prince and C+C Music Factory.
Shawna’s heart was as big as her personality. She was a dedicated grandmother who made every holiday magical. Her Christmas stockings were legendary, and her 4th of July celebrations—filled with her world-class burgers, a little weed, and family fireworks—were the highlight of the year. She was a woman of many talents, from gardening to cooking the best spaghetti and tacos on the planet, all while caring for her many beloved cats and dogs.
She was incredibly stubborn and fiercely independent. If you tried to take her photo, you were almost guaranteed to get her middle finger in the frame—a trademark sign of her rebellious spirit. Even when she was ill, she rarely complained, remaining the "strongest person" her children ever knew. After retiring two years ago, she spent her final years gardening and devotedly caring for her mother until her mother's passing last year.
Shawna is survived by her father, Robert Isaacson; her sister, Robin Isaacson; her children, Charisma Scott and Uriah Isaacson; and her cherished grandchildren, Justin Scott, Jozlynn Isaacson, Uriah Isaacson Jr., and Emma Isaacson. She was preceded in death by her mother, Janice.
A mother holds her children's hands for a while, their hearts forever.
