Shawn's obituary

Shawn Michael Macht of Cincinnati, age 51, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, was welcomed into to God’s loving arms on the evening of January 29, 2026. He was born on August 17, 1974.

Shawn was a successful entrepreneur known for his ambition, determination, and generous spirit. He approached life with energy and purpose, setting goals and working tirelessly to achieve them. He was loyal, kind, fun-loving, and truly the life of the party — someone who could make any gathering brighter just by being there. “Don’t scare me with a good time!”

More than anything, Shawn loved experiences and creating memories with the people he cared about. He was a devoted and wonderful father — proudly known as a “Disney Dad” — who delighted in adventures, vacations, and special moments with his family. He was a fantastic friend, avid golfer, bourbon lover and a trusted presence to many.

Shawn shared ten beautiful years with his wife and best friend, Kristen Michelle Terbeek. Meeting later in life, they recognized how special their connection was and built a life filled with partnership, laughter, and love. Together they welcomed their precious daughter, Brynlee Sue Terbeek, who was one of his greatest joys. He was a devoted father and gave Brynlee so many special memories in the four short years they had together. Shawn was Kristen’s favorite date-night and travel partner, and together they made an incredible team through all of life’s ups and downs. It wasn’t always easy, but he made it worth it.

He is survived by his wife, Kristen Michelle Terbeek; his daughter, Brynlee Sue Terbeek; his father, Michael Macht; his stepmother, Christina Macht; his brother, Jason Macht; and many extended family members and close friends who will miss him deeply. He was proceeded in death by his mother, Karen Sue (nee Griffin) Macht.

Shawn will be remembered for his big heart, his drive, his humor, and the unforgettable joy he brought into the lives of others.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to Brynlee’s College Fund. Contributions can be dropped off at any Chase Bank under Kristen Terbeek, account ending in 2491.

A visitation will be held on Friday, February 6, 2025, from 9:30–11:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, located at 9080 Cincinnati-Dayton Rd., West Chester, OH. A Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m.
