It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Shawn Lefler, a beloved father, husband, son, and brother. Born on February 16, 1989, Shawn's life was tragically cut short on October 14, 2023.

Shawn is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Lefler, whom he married in 2015, and their two children, Wyatt and Layla Lefler. His parents, Randy Lefler and Nicki Bardwell, his step-mother, Leslie Lefler, along with his brother, Brian Mesecher, also survive him among other family members.

Known for his witty and funny personality, he always had you laughing and quoting his quick witted remarks later to others. Shawn's favorite pastimes included spending quality time with his family, working out, and watching the latest Netflix series with his family while he fell asleep two minutes in. Shawn had a great ear for all kinds of music that always tied to how he was feeling and help you know what he was thinking. He enjoyed his weekly Saturday Chick-fil-a meal of two chicken sandwiches, no pickles, a large fry and sweet tea or as he liked to call it, authentic Mexican food, also known as Taco Bell.

There were many significant accomplishments in Shawn's life, from the time he served his country in the Marines and life thereafter, but he held his role as a father above all else, considering his children to be his greatest achievements. He is a hero in their eyes and is the “best dad EVER!” as they tell anyone who will listen with big smiles across their faces. He leaves behind a legacy of funny one-liners you’ll never forget, two amazing children, and memories full of laughter for all who knew him.

Shawn's passing is a heartbreaking loss for all, particularly his children. His memory will forever be etched in our hearts, as we celebrate his life and the time we were privileged to share with him.
