Shawn, affectionately known as BooButt, was a vibrant and passionate individual born July 6, 1992, to Sandrina Thornton and Shawn Hill Sr. in Columbus, Ohio. Shawn left this world far too soon on March 17, 2024, leaving an indelible void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

He was a graduate of East High School, where he was crowned homecoming king, and later attended Kentucky State University. Known for his huge and infectious smile, Shawn made friends wherever he went. He loved to laugh. During a recent visit with his granny, they both shared a huge belly laugh when she asked “what are those twigs in your hair?” Always easy going, Shawn would make and take all kinds of jokes, even ones about himself. Shawn also never missed an opportunity to be outside. He enjoyed spending time with his numerous friends; loving cookouts or any type of party. “Mr. Mac and Cheese” was always first to offer to bring his favorite dish to any gathering, but he also made sure to take his leftovers with him. Whenever he had car trouble, Shawn would always call his dad for help. Enjoying those moments of quality time, he would act as if he was going to learn how to make the repairs himself.

On October 12, 2022, Shawn experienced the best moment of his life. His son, and love of his life, YoSohn Gionni Antonne Hill was born. All, who knew Shawn, know of his love for YoSohn. YoSohn felt and returned that love because, more than any other person, he preferred to be right next to his father.

While Shawn is no longer with us in the flesh, his memory will forever remain in our hearts. Shawn Hill Jr. will be remembered not for the brevity of his life, but for the depth of his love, the strength of his spirit, and the blessing of his existence. Let us honor his memory, not with sadness, but with gratitude for the time we had with him and the love he shared with us all.

Shawn is preceded in death by his brothers Jai Hill and Josh Lucus. Left to cherish his memory are parents Sandrina Thornton and Shawn (Kim) Hill Sr. Son YoSohn Gionni Antonne Hill. Mother of his son Shawnte Sherod. Siblings: Sakendre Thornton, TyJuan Martin Jr., Marqueasha Thornton, Journey Thornton, Dashauna Hill, Jeremiah Dixon, John Lucas, Jermaine Dixon, Destine Lucas, Isaih Hutchinson and Asia Livingstone. Grandparents: Deborah McClure, Horace Hill and Cathy Bowie. Great Grandmother Ida Stephens. Aunts: Akeila Pressley, Tiwan Thornton, Lynnita Thornton, Alana Hill and Amara Hill. Uncles: RayShawn Bowie, George Thompson, Stephen Alexander, Rico Branch and Lee Hill. Cousins: Azariah Hill, Ebony Hill, Daquan Johnson, Shaakira Pressley, Natesa Hill, Tattayna Thornton, Dominque Desotelle and Jay Thornton.
