Sharon's obituary
Sharon (Craig) Travis
1943 – 2023
Worcester, MA - Sharon (Craig) Travis, 80, died peacefully May 20, 2023 at Knollwood Nursing Center after battling a long illness. Sharon was born in Houlton, ME on March 9, 1943 to her predeceased parents Columbus Craig and Clara (Meade) Craig. Many of her friends may recall hearing the oftentimes funny stories about growing up on the family farm. Those stories often reflected her folksy, no non-sense, bold yet subtle sense of humor and character.
Sharon was a graduate of Ricker Classical Institute with special focus on business and commerce studies. She worked over fifty years in various businesses and industries. Friends who had worked with her knew her for her strong work ethic, likability, sense of humor, candor, tactfulness, feistiness, and kindness. Many of her friends in her personal life also recognize those same character traits. She loved designing patterns for things she knitted and sewed, baking homemade breads, cookies, pies and other pastries. She also loved to watch movies, read, play cribbage and pool and laugh with friends.
Sharon is predeceased by her first husband of 15 years, Bernard Morin of Worcester. She is also predeceased by her second husband and soulmate of 24 years ,William Travis of Newburg, New York. She and "Trav" or Bill loved to cook, host dinner parties, play in pool leagues, travel and spend quiet evenings talking, listening to music or watching movies together.
She will be deeply missed by friend, confidant, cribbage partner and shopping pal Linda Hamelin of Worcester, whose close friendship with Sharon spanned four decades. She was always there as a loving friend for her during the good times and tough times even up until the end. She leaves behind her only son, Jean-Pierre “JP” Morin, two sisters, Viola (Craig) Michaud Stuart from Clinton, MA and Susanne (Craig) Thibodeau and brother-in-law, Robert Thibodeau from Bangor, Maine, one nephew David Michaud and his wife Carol from Worcester MA, two nieces Corrine (Michaud) Hansen from Clinton, MA and Darcy (Thibodeau)Teagle and her husband James “J.R.” from Smyrna, DE; four great-nephews: Kristian and Daniel Hansen, both from Worcester, MA and Chase and Braden Teagle from Delaware. At the family’s request there will not be any services. However we invite her friends to share fond memories of Sharon here at this online memorial.
