Sharon's obituary

Sharon Stone-Bloomer (Smith), 70, passed away unexpectedly on July 19, 2024, in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Born on March 1, 1954, in Roanoke, VA, Sharon was known for her vibrant spirit, sharp wit, and compassionate nature.

Sharon began her career as a medical assistant in Maryland. After both she and her sister Brenda lost their husbands to cancer within three months of each other, they moved together to Myrtle Beach. During their time of grief, they found comfort and joy in adopting two Shih Tzu puppies, Dakota and Bocephus, from the same litter. These puppies became a source of happiness as Sharon and Brenda embarked on a new chapter of their lives.

In Myrtle Beach, Sharon worked as a supervisor at Kroger's grocery store in Carolina Forest, where she formed many lasting friendships. She will be deeply missed by the team members and customers who knew her.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, John William Penn Smith and Laura Louise Smith; her sister, Jean Bennington; and her beloved husband, Johnny Bloomer.

She is survived by her loving son, Rusty Stone (Noelle); her sister, Brenda Hester; and her two brothers, Larry Smith (Marie) and John Smith (Jennifer).

A celebration of Sharon's life will be held on August 18, 2024, at the Mill Creek Cove Clubhouse in Bolivia, NC. Her life will be honored and remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Donations can be made to Grand Strand Humane Society in Myrtle Beach, SC.
