Sharon Lou Ridge (née McSorley), age 81, passed away on August 30, 2024, in Seattle, Washington.

Born on August 6, 1943, in the United States, Sharon dedicated her life to education and family. Over the course of more than three decades, she served as both a teacher and an elementary school principal in California and Washington. Her passion for teaching was evident in every classroom she entered. She was deeply respected by students, coworkers, and parents alike for her innovative approach to education—particularly her commitment to connecting learning with real-life skills. Her leadership left a lasting impact on countless young lives and helped shape the future of education in the communities she served.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Sharon was a devoted mother and grandmother whose love knew no bounds. Her warmth and generosity were constants in the lives of those closest to her. She delighted in pampering her family—whether through relaxing spa days, lovingly prepared home-cooked meals, or spontaneous shopping sprees that brought joy to all involved, including the family pets.

Sharon's love continues on in her daughter Shannon, her son John, and her cherished grandchildren Madeline, Simone, Fiona, and Jameson.
