Sharon's obituary

Sharon Ann Pike, 61, of Middletown, IN, passed away on February 14th, 2022 after a brief illness.

Sharon was born on July 23rd, 1960 to Luella & Donald Marron in Elmhurst, IL. After graduating in 1978 from Willowbrook High School, Villa Park, IL, she married the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Daniel Pike.

Sharon and Dan had four children: Stephanie McAllister (Rob), Megan McAnany (Mark), Allison Pike, and Jack Pike.

When she had Allison, a medically fragile child, Sharon became a fierce advocate for her care. This helped her find her way to her passion and career at Easterseals Dupage & Fox Valley. For 30 years Sharon worked as a parent liaison, helping children and families get the services and care they needed to thrive. It wasn’t a job, it was her calling.

Sharon’s most treasured role became that of Mimi to her three grandchildren; Abigail McAllister, Audrey McAllister, and Blake McAllister. She counted down the days till she could retire and move closer to her grandkids who she loved to cook with and for.

In the fall of 2021 Sam and Dan retired and moved to Fishers, IN where she spent her time with her grandchildren and finding their dream retirement home, a small farm in Middletown, Indiana. Sam was looking forward to raising chickens and growing a big beautiful garden.

Sam was a lover of books, cooking, gardening, and most of all serving others. Till her last wakeful day people were texting her for help and advice. She grew beautiful friendships that meant the world to her.

Sam was predeceased by her parents Luella & Donald Marron as well as her sister and best friend Katie Wherley. She is survived by her husband Dan, her sister Maureen Hoger (Ron), brother Donnie Marron, brother Bruce Marron (Cathy), sister Elaine Minniti (John), sister in-law Mary Pittman, brother in-law John Pike (Christine); her children; her grandchildren; and her many beloved nieces and nephews.
