Sherri's obituary

Sharon Sue Nissen

August 31, 1942 – April 6, 2026

Sharon Sue Nissen, a woman of strength, fighting spirit, and unwavering love, passed away on April 6, 2026, at the age of 83. She leaves behind a legacy rooted in family, resilience, and a personality that could fill any room.

Born on August 31, 1942, Sharon graduated from Edmonds High School in June of 1960. Shortly after, she married the love of her life, Marvin Floyd Nissen, in October of that same year. Together, they built a life spanning over 65 years of marriage ~ one grounded in commitment, loyalty, and shared memories that will live on through generations. Sharon was the proud and devoted mother of four children: James (Jim) Nissen, Michael (Frog) Nissen, Jeffrey Nissen, and Shar-Mar Nissen. Her family continued to grow through her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom were deeply touched by her love and presence. She was the pillar of her family ~ the one everyone turned to, leaned on, and loved fiercely.

Sherri, was known for her bold personality, her honesty, and her ability to say exactly what was on her mind. She lived authentically, never worrying about what others thought, and in doing so, taught those around her the value of being unapologetically yourself. She found joy in the simple and familiar things she loved deeply, always cheering on the Seahawks and Mariners, and enjoying her favorite Starbucks drink. These small pieces of her everyday life brought her comfort and became part of the memories her family will forever cherish.

Above all, Sharon’s love was profound, unconditional, and enduring. She was not only a wife, mother, grandmother, aunt but a best friend, a protector, a confident and a guiding light. Her absence leaves an immeasurable space, but her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.              Please join Sherri’s family June 6th at Bailey Farm in Snohomish as we gather to remember her, share stories, and celebrate the amazing memories, we were fortunate to make with her.
