Sharon's obituary
Love, Beauty, and Healing
An unlikely place for someone so beautiful, this world will never be the same.
Her life was a journey fueled by faith. Not always an easy road traveled. She warriored and fought, defying environment and circumstance, surrendering only in her prayer time with her Savior who nurtured her.
She lived her life with a fierce faith, a generous and kind spirit, and a warm tender heart.
Her smile would light up your day, and she had that unforgettable and infectious laugh. She found joy in the little things. A sunny day or playing in the rain. The laughter of a child, a coloring book, music, shooting hoops, or just having a cup of coffee with friends and family talking about old times. For her, the time spent was priceless.
She would give her testimony to those outcast by this world--a little spark of hope to nourish a weary soul. An opportunity to grow in her faith.
She was on this journey full well knowing her destination. Standing in the end, to face her Maker and bask in the glory of His light.
Though it is with a deep encompassing sorrow we say goodbye to our Wife, Mother, Grandma, GiGi, beloved family member and friend, we should also celebrate the realization of a life's work. Her call Home is Her ultimate reward.
-Brenda Colbert, Daughter
~2 Corinthians 4: 16-18 “So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.”
There are no services planned, but the family intends on celebrating Sharon's life in the Spring time when we can all gather outdoors together.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made in her memory to two of the charities she gave to regularly throughout her life.
We have set up memorial donation funds that you can find at the links below:
