Sharon's obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Sharon Boateng, a beloved mother, daughter, and sister, on November 6, 2023. Born on December 7, 1972, Sharon lived a vibrant life full of love, laughter, and grace.

Sharon is survived by her children, Jakaila and James Boateng, her bonus daughter (Niece) Raiven O'neal, and one fur baby (Troy)  who were her pride and joy. Her tireless commitment to them stands as one of her greatest accomplishments. She is also survived by her cherished mother, Bertha Archie (Preston Archie);  brothers, Andrew Mcclendon;  Danyel Knight and step brothers; sisters Michelle Mcclendon, Gwennetta Knight(Candy),Kesha Knight and step sisters; uncles, Andrew Mcclendon(PC),  Rev Dr Matthew Robison(Dorothy), and late uncle Dan 'Popeye' McClendon (Helen McClendon), aunts, Melvia Batts of Rocky Mount (Rev Milton Batts), Mamie Parker of Cheraw, Nannie Mae of Connecticut  Ethel Sims of Kentucky Rev Lossie Robinson Smith (John), a late aunt Dorothy Sellers and many more. She is accompanied by her late Father, Jesse Knight Jr. (Lisha Knight). A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. 

A lover of African cuisine, music by Mary J. Blige, LL Cool J, and Beyonce, and an ardent viewer of investigation discovery TV shows, Sharon's interests were as eclectic as her personality. She loved to travel back home to the DMV area, a place she always held dear to her heart. Among the causes she deeply supported was her family, and she had a strong passion for keeping her family united and loved.

Described best as fearless and charming, Sharon was a beacon of positivity and resilience. Her radiant aura and energetic spirit were contagious to anyone who met her. One of her life's lessons that she was fond to share was to 'Dance like no one is watching.' This encapsulated her approach to life - vibrant and uninhibited.

In her passing, Sharon leaves behind a legacy of generosity. She was a woman who loved to give, whether it was her time, her energy, or her wisdom. She was a woman of great character, known for her big heart and her ability to bring joy to everyone around her.

Sharon will be deeply missed for her cheerful aura, her energetic spirit, and the warmth she brought into the lives of the people she met. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her loved ones.
