Sharon's obituary
In loving memory of our mother, Sharon Ainsworth, who went home to be with the Lord on June 04, 2022. She was the devoted wife of Jackie and loving mother of Monica, Jill, Marci, and Lesley. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Sharon was born on June 26, 1943 in El Centro, CA to Clinton and Emily Sprague. She lived in Holtville her entire life and graduated from Holtville High School in 1961. She went on to cosmetology school before meeting the love of her life, our dad, Jackie. They were married on her parent’s wedding anniversary, September 28, 1962. She was employed as a rural mail carrier for the USPS for more than 30 years and received Imperial Valley Rural Carrier of the Year and an award for driving 1 million miles accident-free on the job. Upon retirement, Mom & Dad enjoyed outings with their “Desert Diner” group and spending summers on the Oregon Coast with family, dear friends, and dog, Baylee Bell.
Our mother was a kind, caring and giving person who always put the needs of her family before her own. She was a strong woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage and dignity. Our mother was a source of inspiration to us all and she will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
Mom was always there for us, whether we needed help with our 4-H projects, cooking tips, encouragement, or a shoulder to cry on. Mom always looked forward to planning summer vacations which included camping trips to the White Mountains, Colorado, San Quintin, Lake Powell, and Rock Creek. She was a woman of strong faith and she instilled in us the importance of family, hard work and doing what is right. Our mother was a true role model who we will always look up to. She leaves behind her beloved husband, Jackie Ainsworth; daughters, Monica Masserini (Johvannie), Jill Renzi, Marci Mange (Andy), Lesley Silva (Johnny); sister, Shirley Daniell, numerous nieces and nephews. Mom was also known as “Amee” to her grandchildren, Johvannie, Mason, Sydney, Katelyn, Carson, Demi, Kylee, Jackson and great-grandson, Jaxon.
Celebration of Life will be held at Cornerstone Community Church in Holtville on July 8, 2022 at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Imperial Valley Humane Society or Woman’s Club of Holtville Scholarship Fund.
Mom, you will always be in our hearts and we will never forget you. We love you so much. Rest in peace.
