Background
It was a little over 4 years ago we learned Charlie was diagnosed with cancer. It started in her fallopian tube, but the symptoms had mimicked so many other things that it wasn’t diagnosed until the cancer had metastasized to her ovaries, uterus, and peritoneum. Charlie came out swinging and planning to fight it as hard as she could for as long as she could. She underwent a radical hysterectomy and multiple rounds of chemo. She lost all her hair…twice…and suffered through ALL of the side effects of chemo and cancer. Through it all she stayed her silly sweet self. She fought and got to see the birth of her first grandchild, and was able to be there for her daughter’s wedding. But sadly, after 4 years, the cancer dealt her a blow she couldn’t recover from: sepsis.
On July 20th, surrounded by family and loved ones, Charlie’s tired body gave up the fight. We all knew that day would eventually come, but you just never wake up in the morning and expect it to be THAT day.
To all our wonderful friends and family who have shown us such support during this difficult time we wholeheartedly thank you. To those who have asked how they could help, memorial donations are requested to be used for end-of-life expenses and to help ease the family’s financial burden as they grieve. Contribute
