Background
My mother has beat cancer 1-2x before my birth. I've never gotten the full story because she says if she talks about it, her cancer will come back. Then in May of 2020 (just months ago) she was diagnosed with advanced and aggressive metastatic brain cancer, which is likely drainage from her lungs.
My family agreed not to do a biopsy or radiation because it'd only tell us the source of the cancer that could only be treated and not cured. The radiation treatments would only be effective and prolong her life by months, and she'd have short term memory loss, hair loss, and more tiredness. None of us wanted her to go through that.
As of now my mother is in-home hospice being cared for by myself and a palliative care team. Her life expectancy was a month, three months ago. My mother is stubborn and anyone who knows her, knows she's a fighter. She grows more tired and weaker every day, but at least in an environment where she is comfortable and can be with her loved ones.
Some people aren't as lucky as my mother, and my mother isn't as lucky as some others. That is why I've decided to start this fundraiser. I never want anyone else to experience this, and though that's not a reality, at least together we can make each other feel less alone and more stable.
For my mother, I encourage anyone who can to donate.
