Obituary

Shari passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at the age of 51 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born February 15, 1969 to Harvey Robert Dyer and Sharon Mae Lucas in Moline, Illinois; Shari moved to Grand Ledge, Michigan with her parents and two siblings, Jeff and Brenda while the children were still young. Personal note from Selina

Born on February 15, 1969 in Moline, Illinois to Harvey Robert Dyer and Sharon Mae Lucas (Bacigal), my mother was an adventurous and carefree child, always scrapping her knees, or I should say: jumping off of roofs. She moved to Grand Ledge, Michigan with her parents and two siblings, Jeff and Brenda, when the children were all still young. She graduated from Waverly Adult Education in 1995, nearly ten years after the birth of my sister Cassandra and three years before me. She worked as a daycare provider in her earlier years before becoming a housekeeper in many of Lansing's hotels. As a housekeeper my mother worked her way up to supervisor and inspectress, and was always one of the best girls on the crew. After many years of housekeeping, my mother's health started to decline. She developed COPD and emphysema, and later suffered a minor heart attack in her mid-to-late 40's. Her health took another dive in May of 2020 when I brought her into the emergency room for a "stroke," which turned out to be a cancerous mass and lesions on the brain. The more tests that were done, the more that seemed to be going wrong. As of now my mother is in-home hospice and being cared for by myself and a team of doctors and nurses from the Sparrow Hospice Services. Overall she's stable and as healthy as she can possibly be.

EDIT: My mother passed away on August 12, 2020.
