Shannon's obituary

Shannon Nicole Thomas-Brooks was born September 12, 1975 to Betty Stewart and Leon Thomas Jr in Little Rock, Arkansas. She accepted Christ at a young age and was a faithful member of Greater Archview Baptist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas. She graduated from North Little Rock High School, Thelma’s Beauty Academy, and received her Associate's degree from Pulaski Technical College.

Shannon was a beloved mother, sister, daughter, grandmother and friend. She lived life intentionally and full of passion. She loved her family and enjoyed music and fashion, spending time with family and friends, traveling, and just living life. Shannon spent years as a hairstylist and also a preschool teacher while her children were young.

Shannon is preceded in death by her husband Andrew Lee Brooks Jr; her father Leon Thomas Jr; her paternal grandmother Dorothy Thomas; her maternal grandparents Josie Lee Stewart and Johnson Donahue; one brother: Torey Thomas; and a special aunt: Carolyn “Helen” Washington (John).

Shannon leaves to mourn her passing, but cherish her memories, her children: Nicholas Thomas, Anthony Bell Jr, Diamond D. Brooks, Daylon Brooks, and De’reon Brooks of Little Rock, AR; three grandchildren: Irish Thomas, Anthony Bell III, and Caiden Thomas of Little Rock, AR; her mother: Betty Stewart Randolph; one sister: Lishonda Thomas-Nash (Ralan) of Little Rock; 4 brothers: Bjorn “BK” Simmons, Antoine Lairry, Daniel Thomas (Mary), and Harvey Lee Randolph III of Little Rock, AR; her maternal grandfather: Leon Thomas Sr; one special aunt: Gracie Stewart Donahue (Don) of Little Rock, AR; three special siblings: La’Terri Porter (Deshawn) Lakeita Washington, and Corey Washington of Little Rock, AR,; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Shannon was a phenomenal woman with a beautiful soul and a vibrant spirit. She was a fighter who loved God and life. She will be truly missed.
