Shannon Virginia Marjenhoff passed away in Ridgway, Colorado on December 14th, 2025. She was born in Charleston, South Carolina, raised in Columbia, SC and Arlington , VA.   graduated from Yorktown High School and received a B.A. in Art at Virginia Commonwealth University. 

These simple facts cannot begin to encompass the life that Shannon lived.  She was bright, articulate, and artistic with a love of adventure, but even more so she loved people and animals! 

As soon as Shannon met you she loved you with absolutely all of her heart.  She would share the clothes off her back and often did, with the tags still on. Her smile and laughter would light up a room but often hid the pain of the worry she carried about the state of the world.  In her final days she said "I just want people to be kind to one another".  

Her friends, who are numerous and live all over the world, loved her deeply.  In this day of email and Facebook where nobody takes the time to send an actual mail, Shannon received many personal letters and cards with pictures and personal art inside.  

She is survived by relatives and friends too many to count.  

Always know, that no matter how much you loved Shannon, she loved you more.

A memorial in the Ridgway town park will be planned for the spring.
