The Wallpaper! Shana was a teenager. She and my oldest son, Emory Smith, were very close. After he passed at just 18, we were looking for ways to cheer each other up and spend some time together. She decided she wanted some prettyvwallpaper in her room. So we bought what was needed and had a memorable time putting it up. It looked gorgeous! A little while we went back to admire our work to follow and that it was falling. Jane, her sweet Mom, was there. We all tried to put it back but to no avail. As soon as we got it stuck back it was falling on our heads and all around as fast as we could put it back up. We looked at each other and started to laugh, and laugh some more, and then we hugged… What was important was the desire to help each other feel better and share time. Some things can’t be put back but the memory and the love lasts forever. Much forever love until we are all together in Heaven one day. Rita Randall

I can't tell you how many times Shana bailed me out of trouble or volunteered to help with something (and she could help with basically everything). And every time, she would say something like, "Don't worry about it!" or "It'll be fine!" You never felt worse after you talked with Shana.
She was a great colleague and friend. She will be missed.

Stephanie and Kaitlyn I am so sorry for your loss. Shana was an exceptional woman and a wonderful mother to the two of you. I am just hearing of her passing and hate that we missed her memorial service yesterday. My thoughts and prayers are with y’all as you navigate through this period of loss.

Shana was one of the first people I met at Heidrick & Struggles. She helped me navigate the ways of the firm as I was assured that she would! I'd call her with a question and in that wonderful southern accent, she would patiently provide me answers and kindly give me guidance. That was 2012 and though we moved around the firm, we had occasions to connect once-in-a-while.
I remember how she glowed with happiness when her first grandbabies came along and then more! and more! She told us how excited she was to move to New Orleans and shared so many sweet pics of her with the babies. When I think of Shana, I think of her smile. We were so very excited to see her in person when she joined us in Chicago last September. She was sunshine.
My condolences to her beautiful family. I wish you peace.

Shana was my dad’s cousin. I didn’t get to spend much time with her but every time we spoke she was so sweet. Heaven certainly gained an angel 🤍 May her soul rest in peace.

I will miss Shana so much. I loved her like my own mother. She was my 2nd mama, I always said. Shana and my Mom were best friends and raised us kids since diapers. I remember all the six flags trips. Sleep overs. And girl trips to Valdosta GA. My heart felt condolences to Steph and Kait. I love you both so much. This is such a tremendous loss. Memories with her will continue to live among us. Fly high Shana. You will be greatly missed forever.

Such a young and beautiful lady to be taken so soon. I never had the privilege to me her but I could tell from pictures that she was the light to her family. Heart felt condolences to the family.
