Shain's obituary
🕊️ In Loving Memory of Shain Paul West
WORCESTER – Shain Paul West, a cherished son, brother, partner, and friend, passed away tragically and too soon on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at the age of 27. Shain’s vibrant life was unexpectedly cut short in the sanctuary of his own home, leaving a profound void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Born and raised in Worcester, Shain possessed a rare blend of creativity, kindness, and humor that illuminated every room he entered. He was the quintessential "class clown," known for his infectious laughter and unwavering mission to make those around him smile. He carried a truly big and kind heart, always willing to do anything he could for anyone in need.
Shain was a true lover of life’s simple, meaningful pleasures. He found peace in the beauty of nature and the outdoors, whether he was relaxing by the ocean, casting a line while fishing, or simply enjoying a quiet moment outside. His artistic soul found expression as an accomplished singer/songwriter and artist; music was a constant, deep appreciation throughout his life. A talented cook, a dedicated gamer, and a deeply compassionate man, he held a special place in his heart for animals, particularly his beloved dog, Kylo.
He leaves behind a loving family who will carry his memory forever: his devoted mother, Dolores “Dolly” Angers of Worcester; his father, David West Jr. of Oregon; his beloved sister, Madi, and her boyfriend, Chris, of Worcester; and his cherished girlfriend, Yari Espada of Wisconsin, who shared a deep bond with him. He is also survived by countless loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends whose lives he touched with his genuine spirit.
Shain West will be profoundly missed and forever remembered for the immense love he held for his family and his enduring spirit of generosity.
Funeral services are private and under the compassionate care of Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave, Worcester.
In honor of Shain’s lifelong love for animals, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Thomas J O'Conner Animal Control and Adoption Center (or a specific local shelter).
