It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Setsuko "Edina" Makinodam de Paula, a generous soul who preferred to be called Edina. She was born on the 3rd of September, 1955, and in the fullness of her years, she departed this world on the 2nd of August, 2025.

Much loved and remembered by her son, Rodrigo Makinodam, Edina was the embodiment of care, love, and the truest form of friendship. Her heart was an inexhaustible well of kindness, always ready to give and help others without expecting anything in return. This was a lesson she embodied and shared liberally.

Setsuko's legacy is a beacon of kindness and generosity that will continue to inspire and guide those who had the honor of knowing her. To live in hearts left behind is not to die, and thus Setsuko will live on eternally, through her son, her deeds of kindness, and the countless lives she touched with her boundless love.
