Personal note from Seth’s Sissy- Dorean

Seth was the stereotypical “big brother,” and I loved it—most of the time. Even though we were twelve years apart (clearly planned), we had that classic relationship: I was the little sister who looked up to him throughout most of my childhood. To me, Seth was mighty, strong, and capable of doing anything. He was always my defender and protector, and I cherished that deeply.

I moved to Arizona before I got married, and I was so proud to have him there at my wedding—celebrating, laughing, and dancing the night away with me. That’s a memory I will always hold close.

Seth loved anything fast—anything that brought adrenaline into his veins. I can’t fault him for that; we were cut from the same cloth. I remember his first two cars—his “twin ’Stangs,” a black one and a white one, both with Shelby Cobra emblems. He called them his “yin and yang,” and that was so perfectly him.

He lived life as an “all in or nothing” kind of person. Whatever he believed in, he gave it everything he had. Seth had a brilliant mind, especially when it came to mechanics and engineering. As a master electrician, foreman, and supervisor on major commercial projects, he built things with excellence and took pride in his work.

When it was time to unwind, Seth had his passions. He loved riding his motorcycles and scuba diving—two things that truly brought him peace. He dreamed of becoming a master diver and traveling the world to explore the oceans. Whether it was his Harley or his Suzuki speed bike, he would take one of his “babies” out whenever the mood struck him.

Seth had a wide circle of friends who shared his love for riding and diving. He loved to joke and make people laugh, and he had a side that not everyone knew—he was a phenomenal cook. Whether grilling or preparing a full meal, everything he touched turned into something special. Seth truly appreciated good food and good company.

What I will remember most is his deep love for life and adventure, and how it matched his larger-than-life personality.

We also shared conversations about deeper, spiritual things. Seth would say that he believed Jesus is God, and that God was always watching over him with grace. I hold on to that hope with all my heart.

Seth, you were my big brother—my protector, my inspiration—and I will always love you; you are forever in my heart and mind.

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
- Romans 8:38-39

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms… I go to prepare a place for you… I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”
- John 14:1-3
