Sergio Gil Vargas was born on March 14, 1938 in Yurécuaro, Michoacán, Mexico to Regino Ramos Vargas and Avigail Amezcua Gil. Sergio entered into eternal rest on September 21, 2021 in Pomona, California at the age of 83.

He immigrated to the United States in the late 1950’s where he met his beloved wife, Maria D. Vargas. The couple married on August 1961 and made their home in West Covina where they raised their family. Sergio owned his own business in Baldwin Park where he often enjoyed the company of his father who would work alongside him. Sergio enjoyed working on cars, often with his children, but was most content in the yard. He could spend the whole day tending to his palm trees and plants, be they in his own yard or those of his children.

He was preceded in passing and welcomed into eternal peace by his beloved wife Maria and their daughter, Angelica Vargas. He is survived his loving family: his sons, Sergio, Alex and Alberto Vargas, and daughters: Maria Elena Del Rio, Veronica Morales, Dolores Gonzales, MaryBelle Ramirez, MaryLou Vargas. He was blessed to be a loving grandfather to 21 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, along with other family and friends who will love and miss him dearly.

He will be laid to rest on October 13, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. at Forest Lawn Covina Hills.
