Sean's obituary

Sean Ross Johnson
February 12, 1984 - June 21, 2018

With great sadness and heartbreak we share Sean's passing. Sean was 34 years old and led a full life. He travelled around the United States making new friends everywhere he went.
He leaves behind his Mother, Wendi Friesen, his brother Riley Johnson. He is preceded in death by his father, Dennis Lee Johnson who passed away last year. Sean has one son, Gavin who is 12 years old.

Sean was a free spirit, living life as he wanted and always coming back home to his mother's arms in Boulder, Colorado several times a year.
He was born in Placerville, California and went to school in Cameron Park, attending Oak Ridge High School.
His death was a shock. His adult life was a struggle with opiate addiction. He was free from his addiction numerous times and was a powerful and intelligent man when clean.

Since he had been clean from drugs for quite some time it was very unexpected to hear the news of his death. Sean was in Denver and overdosed from opiates in the early hours of June 21. His struggle with addiction continued through his adult life and took him through some very difficult times. As a result, he inspired his mother to work in the addiction field to help others out of addiction. Sean's legacy lives on in the people who have become clean and sober due to his mother's work.

In Sean's younger years he was full of energy, exceptionally smart and loved making people laugh. He was not afraid to try anything, and being fearless allowed him to go into any new situation and help others in any way needed. He loved helping people solve problems and get things done. He had an abundance of energy and was able to motivate people in so many ways.

Sean's favorite place was California. His childhood was in Cameron Park and Eldorado Hills. Later, he lived in Humboldt county, and Newport Beach.
Among his talents were computer graphic design, music, science and physics. One of his favorite jobs as a teenager was teaching summer computer classes to young kids. Sean loved scuba diving and was fortunate to dive in Cozumel, Mexico and Monterey, Ca. Sean was a talented drummer and spent much of his younger years playing drums. He loved riding his motorcycle in Newport beach, and driving our powerboat in the ocean. Living on the ocean while living in Newport beach were some of his happiest times of his life.

Sean will be missed so very deeply by his mother Wendi and brother Riley, and his friends who loved him.
Friends and family are welcome to attend the memorial in Newport Beach as we bring memories of his life to his favorite place, the ocean.
We will join in a boat ride to place his remains in the beauty of the ocean.
Memorial Date to be announced soon on the facebook page for Wendi Friesen.
